I've just listed my new Lily of the Valley print on my shop. From now through March 14, which will mark the one month anniversary of the horrific Stoneman Douglas Shooting rampage, I'm donating all proceeds from the sale of this print to Everytown For Gun Safety. This is a small gesture- one that seems tiny in comparison to the tremendous challenge that lies ahead on the path to creating common sense gun laws and ending gun violence. But every little step helps, I've got to believe that. I urge you to research and consider supporting any of the following organizations, get involved locally however you can and most importantly, VOTE and encourage other people to vote in November.
Friends, I am completely thrilled to share some very exciting news! Chronicle Books recently asked me to make illustrations for their Behind the Bar: Two Tea Towels, a product they have coming out next year. Earlier this spring, I painted several dozen ink illustrations of classic bar tools and bar glasses for them. For inspiration, I looked at images of vintage barware and mid century patterns. I had so much fun adding quirky details to these everyday objects.
I have long been a HUGE fan of Chronicle Books' amazing, meticulously designed books, paper goods and gift products, as well as their unbelievable roster of artists and illustrators. If you were to look at my list of dream clients, buried in a sketchbook on my desk, you would find Chronicle Books listed in the number one position. I am still pinching myself that I had the opportunity to work with them, and I hope I get to work with them again soon!
For now, stay tuned - Behind the Bar: Two Tea Towels is due to launch in Spring 2016!
